PID

The base of the n-CD solutions is the Postscribed ID (PID) technology.  It enables the additional inscription of a unique ID onto a disc's signal surface after the stamping process at the disc plant.

Postscribed ID™ allows for the first time ever adding individual information to each produced disc after the stamping process. This information can be simple serial numbers or even the names of your customers. The disc applications can easily read the PID by the use of software interfaces provided by Sony DADC. If the user goes online the PID can be transmitted to your server also by the use of this software interfaces (Web Link).

The PID used in a Direct Mailing to store the name of the customer:

The PID can be used for example as serial number as well as registration authentication code or even as store of name and salutation of the end user for direct mailings. Furthermore the PID can be used for statistics or sales channel tracking. The variety of applications is tremendous!

The Personalized Print offered by Sony DADC offers a convenient way to match the personalization of the disc packaging or your product serial numbers with the PID.
